Foster Care Placements for Children & Teens

Teenage friends spending time together
Alabama Clinical Schools offers two foster care programs to meet the needs of young boys exhibiting reactive behaviors, and boys and girls struggling with mental health issues. Foster care placements with trained parents, supported by our staff, offer a secure, small-scale environment that’s free from some of the influences that have lead to inappropriate behaviors or exacerbated their mental health issues.

Therapeutic Foster Care Program: Provides a broader continuum of care for Alabama youth up to age 21 whose primary therapeutic needs are varied and may not include sexually inappropriate behaviors. Youth in this program attend public school and receive therapy through our facility.

Specialized Treatment Foster Care Program: Designed to serve the needs of younger, sexually reactive males ages 6 to 14 within the context of a single occupancy foster home living arrangement. All treatment modalities of our residential program, regular case management services and educational programming are available.
