Specialized Foster Care for Youth
The Specialized Treatment Foster Care (STFC) Program at Alabama Clinical Schools provides intensive therapy to sexually reactive boys within the context of a foster home living arrangement. This program targets boys exhibiting behaviors at levels that can be effectively managed in a home environment and within the community. Boys in this program will be placed in single-occupancy foster care homes, but they receive the same kind of intensive therapy, case management, and educational programming as our residential treatment programs.
Program Admission Criteria
Boys in this program may exhibit inappropriate sexual behaviors, such as touching other children in a sexual way, showing excessive interest in sex that overrides other activities, continued sexualized behavior after being redirected by an adult, harming or touching animals in a sexual way, or displaying inappropriate knowledge of sexuality for their age.
The STFC Program serves boys who:
- Are sexually reactive
